Dog Dental Stage One - New Clients Only (Afterpay Available)
Stage One Dog Dental - This product is for clients who have a dog that is not currently a patient at Melbourne Dog Clinic. This product also includes a consult fee for a vet visit to assess your dog’s health prior to our clinic performing any surgery. This is different to our Free Dental Checks.
Upon purchase of this product you will be contacted by staff to arrange your consult and your dog’s dental. Please note, these can both be on the same day. We will also sms you two forms to complete and submit back to us before you visit us.
A Stage One Dental includes: Intra-Oral Dental Radiography, plaque and tartar removal, cleaning and polishing.
You dog’s teeth will be assessed during a Stage One Dental to determine if any teeth require extraction. Extractions, in many cases, cannot be determined until after plaque and tartar is removed, especially if there are significant amounts built up, and x-rays are done.
Extractions are not routinely done during a Stage One Dental unless damage to the tooth is so significant it would be contra-indicative to leave the tooth in place. If any extractions are required they are done on a separate day. This also helps reduce time under anaesthetic for your dog and helps reduce costs to you.
If an extraction is required on the day, then you will be contacted as this involves extra costs payable on the day.
You dog will be at our clinic most of the day. In many cases, after a Stage One Dental, dogs can return to their regular diet. A staff member may discuss with you when you pick your dog up ways to improve your dog’s dental hygiene to help reduce future costs to you.
